My friend & I recently spent a Sunday at the perfect Sunday spot ~ Bottle & Bottega!

bottlebottega

This BYOB art studio started in 2009 & is already rapidly growing ~ they have several locations across the U.S. and have become a widely popular place to host birthday parties, bachelorette parties, or just hang out with your friends & have a relaxing couple of hours painting & drinking wine. They host public events such as taco nights, different art medium classes, wine tasting, nude models, couples/singles/ladies nights, masterpiece paintings, & more! The painting classes aren’t expensive, they last for a couple hours, & they provide you with all the tools you need (paint, a canvas, wine glasses & openers) to have a great time with your friends & create your own masterpiece!

Check out pics from our day here. Can’t wait to go back!

You start off with a blank canvas, paint, water, brushes, & a print out of the painting.

The instructor stands up at the front & guides everyone through each step. Even if you’re not a regular Van Gogh, you’ll get all the help you need to create a work of art!

quick tip ~ white wine

Instead of putting ice cubes in your white wine & watering it down, try freezing grapes!

fall color ~ red wine

I love red wine. Fortunately, so does the fall color palatte.

Red/burgundy/wine is huge this fall. It’s a new neutral because it goes with everything & adds an interesting color to any outfit. Try grabbing something in every piece in this color and add it to your daily wardrobe!

I just bought these burgundy ankle-cuffed pants from Urban Outfitters.

chicago symphony orchestra at ravinia

Ravinia is a large outdoor concert venue in the suburbs of Chicago. The concerts start in June & end in September, and there’s a concert almost every night! Both of us, along with our college roommates, went to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia a few days ago and had a great time with amazing food & wine.

recipe ~ summer sangria

Sangria is the perfect summer drink! Here’s a recipe I used this past weekend for our friend’s BBQ.

2 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon

10 cups of Canada Dry

2 apples

lots of strawberries & pieces of pineapple

5 tablespoons of sugar

a couple squirts of lime juice

mix all of the ingredients together, making sure you chop up the fruit into very small pieces!

Cheers!
