how-to: the perfect ballerina bun
A ballerina bun is not only super stylish and in right now, but it’s also one of the easiest and fastest hairstyles to create. Follow along this tutorial to pull it off perfectly every time!
We used a pre-made mesh circle from H&M ($5 in the impulse accessory bin by the registers) but you can also use a sock (learn how here).
Start with straight, sleek hair.
Pull hair into a high ponytail.
Grab the mesh circle and pull the ponytail through the center.
Pull the ponytail straight up and bring the mesh circle towards the end.
Fold the ends over and around the mesh circle, covering all parts and rolling the circle back down.
Keep rolling the hair and circle down towards your head, making sure to get all the ends in the bun.
Use bobby pins to secure any flyaway ends.
And there ya go! Easy, fast, looks great every time.
color-block-polka-dot nails!
Here is a fun Friday Tutorial for you guys!
In this design I used Fly by OPI (Nicki Minaj Collection), Black Diamond by China Glaze, and Alpine Snow by OPI. I also used a small craft paintbrush to do the polka dots and also some mailing label stickers to get straight lines on the color blocking.
First, brush over a bottom coat to protect your nails. Then, paint one coat of the bottom color.
Let the nails dry COMPLETELY. If the nails are tacky, the bottom color will come off with the stickers. Then, place the stickers diagonally across the nail.
Paint the darker color on your tips. Wait for it to dry, then remove the stickers.
Then, with a thin craft paintbrush, use white lacquer to paint polka dots in a fun pattern on your nails. I chose to do 3 dots on my black tips, but you can be as creative as you want to! Finish off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top coat and you are good to go!
Here are my finished nails:
Happy Painting!

loose curls tutorial
I hate hair cuts. I need my hair long. Because of my long locks, I have the luxury of being able to curl my hair in a fun Kardashian way even though I don’t use hair extensions. My hair is not very voluminous when it is dried, so I used a lot of hair spray to keep my curls in tact. Notice that I can get this done in under 10 minutes… perfect for getting ready for work, class, or a night out on the town!
I use: Aussie Hairspray, Sun Touched Shine Hair Spray, Conair 1 and 1/4 inch curling iron, shine pommade
