‘Tis the season for gold and glitzy nails!! I figured I would play on a big trend of 2012- gold capped shoes! Here is my inspiration:
For my NYE nails I used some Color Secrets Pro nail stickers and my black China Glaze polish to create a gold tipped french manicure.
First I painted my nails completely black:
Then I used the french tip parts of the Color Secrets Pro nail appliques. The set comes with enough appliques that you can do 2 manicures, maybe 3 if you are smart about it!
I have never used nail appliques before. They aren’t true lacquer but they were easy to work with. They didn’t have a feeling of stickers– they seemed to be in the middle of a sticker and lacquer. I used a top coat over the manicure to seal it and it came out great! Was a big fan of these… they truly were metallic and looked amazing. Buy them here. Very fresh and festive manicure to have for New Years Eve!
We hope you had a very nice New Years with your family and friends! Cheers to 2013!
A nice rep at Color Secrets Pro sent me some of their new nail polish to try out! She sent me 3 colors: Eternal Sunshine (a sparkly royal blue), The Holiday, a sparkly gold glitter, and She’s all that, a shocking pink.
I initially had to swatch them all on one hand, just to see how they turned out! My pointer finger is the gold glitter over the pink.
I love all of these colors but I decided to use Eternal Sunshine as a base and do some fun wintery nail art!
Don’t mind my shiny cuticles, I went a bit crazy with my Badger Cuticle Care. This winter is drying my skin out sooo much! If you have this issue with your nails, always put lotion or cuticle cream around your nails when giving yourself a manicure. It makes the manicure look so much better when it all soaks in and replenishes your dry nailbeds It also helps while you paint to remove polish that gets on your skin.
Then I used my orly white nail striper to give my nails some cute wintery designs…they remind me of a tacky holiday sweater!
All in all, I love the Color Secrets Pro formula. I actually only used one coat of the royal blue and it was opaque and the polish wasn’t too chunky at all. It went on smooth and I can’t wait to try some more nail art with the bright pink and the pretty gold!
Right now on Color Secrets Pro‘s website, they have a fantastic deal for 4 of their holiday glitters.. only $9.99! Its the holidays… treat yo self!
I got an awesome blue Color Club polish in my Birchbox this month… Insta This! I decided to do some nail art with it!
Note: Large amounts of red wine were being ingested as this nail art was going down. Which explains why I got lazy on my right hand and why I was a little messy around my cuticles. Don’t judge, it was a long week!
