recipe ~ caramel corn

The perfect fall snack!

You’ll need ~

plain popcorn

manzetti caramel sauce

almonds

cinnamon

butter spray

salt

1. pop the popcorn

2. toast the almonds & chop up in small pieces

3. mix popcorn & almonds

4. heat caramel with butter spray

5. add a teaspoon of cinnamon & a teaspoon of salt

6. mix the popcorn & almonds with the heated caramel mixture

7. spray a foil-covered baking sheet

8. put the popcorn in the oven at 250 degrees for 30 minutes

9. turn the corn halfway through

10. put in a dish on top of a wire cooling rack

11. wait for it to crisp and break into pieces!

12. add some m&ms to make it extra sweet!

chicago symphony orchestra at ravinia

Ravinia is a large outdoor concert venue in the suburbs of Chicago. The concerts start in June & end in September, and there’s a concert almost every night! Both of us, along with our college roommates, went to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia a few days ago and had a great time with amazing food & wine.

cafe ba ba reeba

One of my favorite restaurants in Lincoln Park is Cafe Ba Ba Reeba.

It’s an indoor/outdoor tapas restaurant that’s great for dates, perfect for big summer parties, and also famous for its sangria!

There are four or five flavors of sangria to choose from ~ we didn’t know which one to get to so we sampled each one and finally chose to mix red & white, so good!

Tons of tapas choices ~ we weren’t that hungry so we got three plates to share.

Egg, potato & onion omlette

Citrus-cured salmon, cucumber, cream & toast

Seriously amazing!

Grilled chicken skewer with zucchini almond pesto

Dessert pintxos ~ crema catalana, spanish brownies, fruit pound cake, macarona almond tart, & sorbet

How amaze does this look? If you’re in the Chicago area this weekend, you have to try it out!
